After winning the 9th Peace Cup trophy this year, military side APR FC will represent Rwanda in the CAF Confederation Competition next year.

Tuesday’s 1-0 victory against Espoir FC handed APR the 9th Peace Cup and next year it will have the opportunity to represent Rwanda in the CAF Confederation. Besides winning the title the military side walked away with Rwf 10m in cash prize.

Following a disappointing season for the reigning league champions under the tutelage of their former player and now head coach Jimmy Mulisa, APR came into this game seeking for non-thing less than a win to finish the 2016/17 season with silverware.

APR finished third in the league with 57, 16 points behind league Champions Rayon which meant that they would not compete in any continental competition next season unless they won the Peace Cup.
