Burundi ruling party establishes the HQs in Bujumbura

Bujumbura-It’s in the new building opened on the same day to house the national headquarters of the CNDD-FDD Bagumyabanga that chose to hold their extraordinary congress this Saturday, May 14, 2011.

The ceremonies were preceded by cutting the symbolic ribbon to mark the inauguration of this building by President Nkurunziza also president of the Council of Elders of the party. A building with three floors and a basement with a total of 49 offices.

More than a thousand Congressmen responded to this appointment. In all, 1622 out of 1699 delegates expected. This prompted the Commissioner for Legal Affairs in the party to declare the legality of this conference in Bujumbura.

Flags of the presidential party flew the building and surrounding area with an impressive security apparatus. Checkpoints by police and soldiers were visible everywhere. Boulevard du Peuple Murundi was closed all day for traffic safety, it was found.

In addition to local guests such as political party representatives, consular missions accredited to Burundi and those non-governmental organizations, delegations from elsewhere were also present as officials from the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) in Rwanda and the MDRP power in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The conference in Bujumbura had on its agenda the assessment of implementation of the first legislature of the party of 2005-2010. A look back but also prospects for the next two years.
In addition to a positive outcome has prepared the President of the CNDD-FDD, Jérémie Ngendakumana, stressed the importance of doubling the efforts and work so that the credibility of the party to be enhanced.

The Congress is held when a group of Bagumyabanga who say they do not have a space for expression within the party calls this Congress organized by irregular because of “false” Bagumyabanga.
