APR FC beat Anse Reunion of Seychelles 2-1 in the return leg of the preliminary round to qualify 6-1 on aggregate played away on Tuesday in Victoria, Seychelles.

The military side who went into the return leg with a 4-0 goal cushion came from behind to score 2-0 courtesy of goals from Herve Rugwiro and Issa Bigirimana. The hosts had secured an early consolation goal in the first goal.

APR Fc, Peace Cup holders, will now face Malian side Djoliba Fc who are already qualified to the 1/16th final after their opponents Elwa United withdrew from the competition due to financial constraints.

The APR Fc and Djoliba tie will be played in March with the first leg scheduled for March 6-7 in Mali while the return leg will be staged in Kigali in the weekend of 16-18, 2018.

Djoliba reached the group stage in the 2012 CAF Confederation Cup while APR Fc have never reached the group stages since they made their debut in Africa’s biggest club competition in 1997.
