Kisangani-Universities staff under strike

Kisangani town

The scientific staff of higher institutions and universities in the city of Kisangani went on strike Saturday, June 25.

The decision was taken after a general meeting which brought together the same day, the leaders of work, assistants, librarians, responsible for professional practice at the University of Kisangani and colleges of the city.

They claim in particular:

– Improved pay scales,
-Rental seeker to each a research fund equivalent to U.S. $ 500 per month to month and
-The regularity of the payment of salaries and bonuses institutional twentieth day of each month.

As a result, these teachers explained the end of their general meeting, all courses and supervising students in developing their scientific work are suspended.

They also announced the non-participation of the scientific examination of the first session until the Congolese government gave them a favorable response to their demands.
