Trade and Commerce Minister Francios Kanimba said that luck of infrastructure like enough roads and power are among the barriers to investment in the country. Reading from the survey carried out by Rwandan Ministry of Commerce and planning, the available infrastructure will not be enough for Rwandans who are moving to urban areas.
Also the survey revealed that only 20 percent of Rwandans live in the urban areas, and the number in projected to increase to 30 percent in 2020.
According to theKanimba, the government is pushing hard to put in place the infrastructures needed. In the government retreat taking place in Gako, Bugesera district of Eastern Rwanda has been called to be result oriented.
However, Rwanda’s Prime Minister Pierre Damien said the government is all it could to have the infrastructure issue solved.
