Over 23 officials attend Special Olympic Programs in Johannesburg

Leaders from 23 Special Olympics Programs around the Africa region traveled to attend a 5 day Special Olympics Africa Leadership Conference that concluded in Johannesburg, South Africa.

From Benin to Zimbabwe, Special Olympics Program staff, Athlete Input Council members and Board members traveled from across the Region for 5 days of intensive workshops under the theme ‘Building Inclusive Communities’.

Program leaders held workshops in fundraising, sports marketing, media planning and project management to support the 50th Anniversary celebrations, 2019 World Games preparation and increase Program support funds to advance the mission of Special Olympics in Africa Region.

Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
