The National Football Executive Committee of Rwanda Football body (FERWAFA) has officially announced the disqualification of Rwamagana City Fc from the final of the 2017 Second Division League, replacing them with Miroplast Fc.

The Executive Committee took the decision in during the monthly session held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at FERWAFA headquarters at Remera, Kigali City.

The decision was taken following a protest made by Miroplast Fc after the first leg match of the semi-final round of the Second Division League against Rwamagana City Fc played on June 11, 2017 at Gishari grounds, Eastern Province.

Miroplast Fc contested the eligibility of the player Pie Micomyiza who was fielded by Rwamagana City in the first leg of the semi-final round of the Second Division League while not appearing on their official squad list submitted to and approved by FERWAFA.

Following investigations by FERWAFA and on the basis of documents provided by the Rwamagana City Fc and the official squad list approved by local football body ahead of the start of the second round of the second division league, FERWAFA establishes that Rwamagana City Fc is at fault of fielding an eligible player in the first leg of the semi-final round of the this competition.

Based on the investigation and other findings, the Executive Committee decided as follows:

  1. Rwamagana City Fc is declared losers of the semi-final round of the 2017 Second Division League against Miroplast Fc and with effect is eliminated from the competition.
  2. Miroplast Fc is declared winners of the semi-final round of the 2017 Second Division League against Rwamagana City.
  3. Miroplast Fc is notarized in the finals of the 2017 Second Division League, as replacements of Rwamagana City Fc.

FERWAFA has also official announced that the final of the 2017 Second Division League will be played on June 24, 2017.
