Rwanda:Bank Populaire-Kabuga branch robbed

Police is investigating the robbery of Bank Populaire Kabuga branch after robbers swept  it clean of millions francs

The theft took place during the Friday night approaching Saturday April 15 leaving the local around the bank in dilemma over how the theft was carried out yet the bank has security personal at the time.

Locals say that they were shocked when news emerged that their bank had been robbed yet it had tight security that did not even cause any alarm for prompt intervention. Some clients suspect that there is someone behind the theft.

One of the bank official said anonymously that the total sum of money stolen cannot be accounted for but is suspected be in millions. Police spokesperson in Kigali Emmanuel Hitayezu  is quoted to have said that amount stolen is not known as investigations are yet to disclose how much it was.

He says that the thieves entered through a metallic window they had shuttered and then broken down the safe where the money was stolen.

The Police Superintendent r noted that security guards at the bank could not intercept the theft because the thieves broke through the back window..
