Uganda churches to award UPDF generals as Kabaka presides over

Christian community will May 27, 2012 award UPDF for their contribution is protecting the people of Uganda and their dedication to help local people according to the statement that Great Lakes Voice bears a copy.

The function that will take place at magnificent Common wealth resort Munyonyo will be presided over by His Majesty, Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom Ronald Mutebi.

UPDF commanders will be awarded for “being people’s friendly forces with strong ideological stand to providing the security to the growing Ugandan population in a professional manner.”

Though the statement does not provide details of the officers to be awarded, our security sources say, Gen. Yoweli Kaguta Museveni will be awarded the “Medal of Honor”. Other generals to be awarded include; Gen David Tinyefuza, Gen. Salim Saleh Akandwanaho, Gen. Elly Tumwine and Gen. Aronda Nyakirima. Though, state house sources believe that the list is not yet exhausted.

A senior official in Amazing grace church intimated to Great Lakes Voice that the church in Uganda is trying to reconcile President Museveni and Kabaka of Buganda, also try to cool down opposition.

Some critics say first lady Janet Museveni is behind the awards and reconciliation thus driving Kampala born again churches political by her influence as a strong born-again believer.
