Kampala, Uganda-Former Inspector General of Police, Gen. Eduard Kale Kayihura is reportedly arrested by Special Forces Command and detained at Kololo.

Local publications report that security forces have Tuesday evening stormed several hotels in Lyantonde along Masaka-Mbarara in search for Kayihura.

The security personnel were deployed in military vehicles and instructed to search Court Yard and Sky Blue Hotels were Kayihura has been a regular attendant.

They put all staff at the hotels under arrest before checking all rooms-according to the official who preferred anonymity to speak freely.

Defence Spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire could not comment on this startling development. Kayihura has in recent months been holed up at his farm in Lyantonde.

“I am busy with farming,” kayihura had told local press last week.

As of Tuesday night, some reports showed that soldiers had been spotted near the General’s farm. However, the details surrounding his arrest remain scarce.
