UPDF Conduct Raids on ADF Bases in DR.Congo

Uganda Peoples Defense Forces (UPDF) has this afternoon conducted an attack at Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) bases in the neigbouirng Democratic Republic of Congo, Army spokesperson has confirmed.

Army spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire confirmed the raid adding that this was in preemptive move after sharing intelligence with their Congolese military counterparts.

“We shared intelligence between Uganda and the DRC, confirmed that the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) terrorists which recently carried out attack on UN peace keepers under MONUSCO, were planning to conduct hostile activities against Uganda ”Brig.Karemire says.

“ADF terrorists may only buy time but will be targeted wherever they are hiding”. The army spokesperson added in a brief statement.

The terrorist group  recently carried out attack on UN peace keepers under MONUSCO killing 14 Tanzanian soldiers and injuring over 50
