Utabarutse unopposed during re-election

Theogene Utabarutse was re-elected unopposed as National Handball Federation (Ferahanda) president for a final four-year term in office

Utabarutse was voted unopposed with all executive committee with all 25 votes during the elections held over weekend and has already said this four term will be his final period as head of the handball body in Rwanda.

Utabarutse, who was applauded by executive committee for the hard work he has done in the last four years. He said “The main focus in this last term will be centered on youth talent detection at the grassroots, solicit for more trainings workshops to give referees as well as coaches the skills required”

“We have signed an Memorandum of Understanding with Egyptian federation, we hope it will help us to learn more from them. We have over 19 trained coaches who are legible to officiate at continental level. We plan to compete in many continental competitions this season and the other issue is to focus on gender hand promotion now that we have an elected female vice president.” He added

Tuyambaza Bertha beat Peter Kagabo by on one to become vice president, she won by 13-12 votes. While Jean Paul Ngarambe was elected unopposed as secretary general and Dieudonné Garuka as elected at treasure.

The new executive committee will work for the next four years.
