Kishasa, DRC-The Congolese government and the European Union signed Thursday, August 11 in Kinshasa, a Memorandum of Understanding on the observation of elections scheduled for late November 2011.
During a meeting chaired by the Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexis Thambwe Mwamba, the ambassadors of France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain have confirmed the participation of observers in their presidential and legislative elections in the DRC.
The European Union is responding to the invitation by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Patrick Mutombo said the spokesman for the Foreign Minister.
Patrick Mutombo said that the EU has set up a monitoring mission in the DRC must happen by the end of September 2011.
