In a move that will see north and south Kivu fail under M23 absolute control, the rebel group has finalized the arrangements, and now forces on the ground are ready for the mega offensive operation against Congolese regular forces.
Great Lakes Voice has independently established that M23 move is a result of Kabila’s failure to negotiate with the rebellion.
After seizing Bunagana, Rutshuru, Lumangabo, Kiwandja, Ishasha, South Lubero, Kitchanga, Mabenga, and threatening Goma, Masisi and Walikale, M23 rebels which appears to be unstoppable, sources in the ranks, say they are to carry out a mega offensive that will see Bukavu captured
Efforts to speak to Col. Kazarama, M23 publicity has been futile as all of his phones are out of coverage.
Forces under Colonel Kahasha command are advancing towards Bukavu and sources say Burundi government forces are to give a hand to ensure North Kivu fails under M23 control. However, this publication is yet to verify the type of support the Burundi army to give.
General Kakule Lafontaine troops that seized Ishasha and South Lubero are now advancing towards FARDC controlled areas in a move to have Kivu South and North under M23 control to establish a unified government.
M23 sources say Colonel Kahasha has withdrew all his troops already surrounding Goma and others advancing on Masisi. He has sent them to Bukavu area, his region of origin.
