Over 14 tons of Holy Qurans stocked at Magerwa warehouses belonging to Rwanda Muslims Association (RMC) will be auctioned according to a communique from Rwanda Revenue Authority.

The auction is set on 28th this month at Magerwa in Gikondo, Kigali city, with estimated 15 thousand cartons of date fruits to be publically auctioned.

Both the Qurans and the dates were donations to RMC from unknown Araba nation, and it was estimated that Muslim association was supposed to pay over Rwf 30million in taxes to acquire the goods.

The Voice has tried on a couple of times to reach out to RMC for a comment but nobody was willing to speak.

According to RRA, failing to clear taxes for goods in public warehouses before six months results in an auction to avoid accruing taxes and to offer space for incoming goods.
