Kigali-Rwanda-Agaciro Development Fund, a solidarity fund initiated by Rwandans to improve the level of financial autonomy also will be used to support key priorities such as rural development projects among others has begun its operation.

The Minister of Economic Planning and Finance, John Rwangombwa said that, the fund to be launched next week, also works as an alternative for Rwandans following donors aid cut

“The fund is not coming to substitute the existing funds but rather to supplement them. The uniqueness of the fund is that it is Rwandans themselves that will finance it voluntarily.

Nobody will be forced to contribute to this fund. The government will supervise strictly, that nobody to be forced. This is a voluntary action of patriotic people” Rwangombwa said.
