Rwanda:Min Aloysia Inyumba passes on

The latest sad story reaching to our new desk, involve Minister in the Prime minister’s office, in charge of gender and family promotion Inyumba Aloysia has passed on Thursday.

Government officials have refused to provide details on Inyumba’s death saying “it’s too early to comment.” The permanent secretary in the ministry of gender and family promotion could not speak during the phone conversation weeping uncontrollably.

She is suspected to have died of cancer. No details yet available. Government is to release official announcement.

Regarded by many in RPF circles a heroine, Inyumba is one of the strongest women Rwanda has ever had; she ably contributed to the liberation of Rwanda and has been at forefront of Women emancipation not only in Rwanda but in the world.

Inyumba has died just before few days to the cerebration 25 years of RPF existence.

Inyumba, a graduate of Makerere, is survived by a husband and two children. She worked as a financial controller during the 1990-94 bush struggle that Liberated Rwanda and brought the ruling party RPF in government.

In the RPF struggle, Inyumba, developed a financial mobilizing mechanism, skillful management of RPF finances that gave her much respect in the Political class and soldiers alike.

In RPA-RDF cycles, she is remembered for leather, North Korea type of the boots she introduced in RPA soldiers branded as “Vijana Musilale” and “Simamaju” she also introduced RPA desert  military uniform, Mukotanyi.

September 20, 2012 the Minister of cabinet affairs in the Prime Minister’s office, Protais Musoni had told Great Lakes Voice that Inyumba was seriously sick and she was operated. Since then, Musoni has been proving political guidance to her ministry.
