South Sudan now Nile Basin Initiative full member

South Sudan who are attending Nile Basin Commission as observer member has been admitted as a full member by Ministerial meeting taking place at Milles Collines in Kigali Rwanda bringing members to ten.

Also the ministerial meeting has approved the overall strategic plan for the next five years and took note that an estimated

“It’s good when the child is born and the child cries. The drum is beaten. South Sudan is glad to be a part of Nile basin family.  However, we shall need to be natured to grow well and be in the same stature.

We are full members, we are proud, we are going to participate in bring all Nile members together and not dividing them.” reacting on the entrance and the possibility on signing the water sharing pact Paul Okech.

Speaking to the press, Stanislas Kamanzi, said the meeting was a success to restate members commitment to the organization.

We hope that this year as I take over the chairman ship. This year leaves us with the opportunity to reach remarkable stage,” Kamanzi said

“It’s through unity that we shall secure funds to cover for the budget to fund the projects,” Hesham Mohamed KANDIL, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Egypt. “We shall not be left alone; we shall send you our ideas and work together as one” He added
